Vacheron Constantin – A World of Excellence

It’s not every day you get to speak to a master craftsperson at the cutting edge of their profession. So, when we were given the opportunity to discover what makes Vacheron Constantin time pieces so special, we jumped at the chance.

At over 265 years old, Vacheron Constantin is the oldest watch manufacturer in continuous production, in the world, whose knowledge and craftsmanship dates back to George II and Louis XVI. Not many organisations can trace their lineage back further than Charles Dickens, especially not one that has stayed at the forefront of desirability for all that time. But that’s exactly what Vacheron Constantin can rightly claim.

Centuries in the making

From their beautiful head-quarters in Plan-les-Ouates outside Geneva, Vacheron Constantin bring to life their key remarkable collections of exquisite watches. Patrimony, Traditionnelle, Métiers d’Art, Overseas, Fiftysix®, Égérie and Historiques. They also offer their most discerning clientele of connoisseurs the rare opportunity to acquire unique and bespoke timepieces by means of its ‘Les Cabinotiers’ department.

What impressed us the most with Vacheron Constantin was their meticulous passion for perfection and their flare for creativity. And we weren’t surprised to learn that some of their most elaborate creations take upwards of five years to craft.

Through their team of engineers, gem setters, watchmakers, engravers, enamellers, designers and artisans, Vacheron Constantin somehow seem to manage to redefine what is possible, challenging the boundaries of excellence, crafting some of the most elegant living, breathing pieces for art we’ve ever seen.

Everyone at the Doctors’ club has their favourite design, but our overwhelming consensus was that the Les Cabinotiers offer was simply sublime. And when you see these beautiful creations move, all other watches feel rather uninspiring. Although it wasn’t just the rare opportunity to be in the presence of such magnificent specimens, that made us fall in love with Vacheron Constantin, but more the whole experience and journey of creating, designing and working with such consummate professionals who bring to life such a unique and bespoke gift.

Time well spent

With our private and confidential appointment in one of the 2 boutiques in London, our member worked with their designers, in complete discretion, to bring his story to life and create a one-of-a-kind chronometer for his partner.

This handcrafted anniversary gift perfectly captured a special memory for them both using their favourite work of art as a backdrop, which is now carried with them, always. To say it earned some serious brownie points, is an understatement.

Why not discover for yourself what makes Vacheron Constantin’s craftspeople tick and find your favourite design from their sumptuous range of stunning timepieces.
