The Doctors Club was lucky enough to be invited to visit our partner Gusbourne Wine’s Kent vineyard.
For those of you that don’t know, Gusbourne is a real success story of British wine having won numerous prestigious international awards for it sparkling wines.
We’ve been a partner with Gusbourne for quite a while; we love the wines but hadn’t had the chance to visit the vineyard itself. Even on a grey autumn October morning, with the vines tucked up for winter, the Gusbourne Estate is still a nice place to be, set as it is in tranquil rolling hills near the Kent coast.
We had a fascinating tour of the vineyard by our knowledgeable guide Ian (where my sparkling wine loving daughter learnt where her chosen elixir comes from!), we were also treated to a tasting session (next time I won’t drive) and a 3-course tasting menu with accompanying wines (why did I drive?).
The care and attention shown, not just to us, but every one of the people on the tour and tasting experience was really very impressive. The food was excellent, the passion for the wine shown by the staff was evident and the wine itself was of course fantastic (what little I tried anyway, did I mention I drove?)
It really was great to experience the tours offered at a discount to our members by our partner first hand, it really is a lovely thing to do and a British company that is excelling in a very un-British industry is something to applauded and supported.

Special Thanks to: Florent and Alice at Gusbourne!
Member advice: Don’t drive, just get the train to Ashford and (the short) taxi ride to the vineyard.
